Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your Brain Bout account and personal data at any time. You can do it yourself inside the app, or send us a request by email. This page explains both paths, what gets removed, and how long it takes.
Delete it yourself
- Open Brain Bout and sign in.
- On your Profile, tap the ⚙️ settings icon (top-right).
- Tap Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Your account and personal data are deleted immediately and permanently.
Ask us to delete it
- Email privacy@brainbout.app from the email address on your account.
- Use the subject line "Delete my account" and include your display name.
- We verify the request comes from you (we may ask a confirming question).
- We process the deletion and email you when it's complete.
1What gets deleted
When your deletion is processed, we permanently remove or irreversibly anonymize the personal data tied to your account, including:
- Your account and login credentials (email and password, held by our authentication provider).
- Your display name and profile.
- Your gameplay stats — ELO rating, XP, match history, and rankings.
- Your Expo push notification token.
- Your party chat messages and category discussion board posts, or your authorship link to them.
- Your marketing waitlist entry, if you joined it with the same email.
2What we may keep
We may retain a limited amount of data where the law requires it, or to prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Any retained data is kept only as long as necessary. Note that content you posted publicly may have been seen or copied by other users before deletion, and copies outside our control cannot always be recalled. De-identified or aggregated data that can no longer identify you may be retained.
3How long it takes

This can't be undone
Deleting your account is permanent. Your rank, XP, streaks, and match history cannot be restored afterward. If you only want a break, you can simply sign out and come back later instead.
